Forest Stewardship Council

Omexco is proud to have obtained the FSC-certificate (CU-COC-812488).

FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council. It is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization that promotes the responsible management of forests worldwide. Responsible forest management complies with 3 conditions:

• It takes into account the environment as to maintain the forest's biodiversity, productivity and ecological processes.
• It respects the social rights, f.i. rights of ownership of local communities and safe working conditions for the forest labourers.
• It is economically viable.

Forests are important. They provide clean water, clean air and help combat global warming. Moreover they also provide food, medicine, timber and paper.

The way from the forest to the customer is long. Timber and paper go by many companies before reaching the end-consumer. To guarantee the product bought is indeed an FSC-product, every link in the production chain is audited by independent control organisms. Thus to avoid the FSC wood or cellulose being switched with non-controlled wood or pulp. Every link needs its own certificate.
